Drive Thru Madness

Sunday, April 25th, 2004

I first experienced a purposely slow drive thru in Florida last year when Evan took me to a Steak & Shake. I mean purposely slow because you go in there expecting to wait in your car for a while as they prepare your food. I’m only used to slow because they ran out of fries. Evan backed up the Florida drive thru because the South isn’t in as much of a rush and are willing to wait. I guess it applies to the Midwest too.

A few weeks ago I went to Subway and while I was getting my sandwich I saw that there was a drive thru window. I didn’t second guess my decision because Subway is the kind of place where I know I have to go it and wait for my sandwich to be made. Besides, I want to see my sandwich being made. Tonight I decided to try this place called Steak Escape, sounded interesting and even a Minnesota cheese steak sounded ok to me. Again with the drive thru. I can’t imagine waiting for a cheese steak to be made while I’m sitting in my car. And what if this place gets popular? There will be cars down the street. For the record, the cheese steak was average, just like all the rest here. At least there was no mention of Philly Cheese Steak like there was at the Mall of America.

Just had to show some pure genius. Make sure you click on each of the figures to see the accessories. I hope they don’t cost too much.

Easter in Minnesota

Sunday, April 11th, 2004

Sometimes I think my only purpose on this site is to link to Sports Guy articles that by this point you should find on your own. But here we go once again with the Sports Guy’s trip to Vegas.

Easter in Minnesota is a little different than in PA. That’s because in MN I can’t go home, so it doesn’t even feel like Easter. When I got up in the morning I didn’t have to go hunt for my Easter basket, it was in a box that came FedEx yesterday. It still made it feel like home opening it up and seeing plenty of Starburst jelly beans and Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs. I had a nice dinner with the family here. Otherwise, the rest of the day was just like any other weekend. Watching Movies, Sports, or whatever else I find to entertain myself.

If you search through the picture albums you’ll find a new pick from a few weeks ago when we had a work lunch for someone’s retirement. Just so you know that I still look the same. I keep thinking about the Spring Break pics, soon I’ll get to the write ups.
