Blink’s Greatest Hits album comes out tomorrow. I was a little disappointed when I first saw the track listing a few months ago. It has 15 greatest hits tracks and 2 ‘unreleased’ tracks. ‘Not Now’ is being played on Sirius quite a bit now and they are labeling it ‘New’. I first heard the song when I was in Minnesota meaning its at least a year and a half old. I tried to put together my greatest hits but it was a 2-disc set. After some tinkering I was able to get it down to 19 tracks. Read on to see them. Any Blink songs you love that didn’t make the list?

Blink 182’s Greatest Hits
Monday, October 31st, 2005Homecoming Weekend – Pics and Video
Monday, October 31st, 2005My pictures are now posted on my Flickr. A few real dark ones from the parade, tailgating, and maybe a few other strays. I say every week that I’ll try to get everyone’s pictures together but that’s not an easy task. It might be a good project for after the season. If you have a Flickr account and upload your pictures to it then its really easy to create a collection of everyone’s various pictures. Also use all the cool Flickr features to comment and leave notes on the pictures. The video is done as well. Again no real reason to edit it so its just all there. Includes: Table Building, Beer Bat, and some postgame tailgating thats too dark to even see. Enjoy!

Animaniacs on DVD
Thursday, October 27th, 2005Really excited to read this today. Not only Animaniacs but also a seperate release for Pinky & the Brain. Animaniacs was my favorite cartoon, I watched it everyday after school. Won’t be released until mid-2006 but there will be around two dozen episodes per set.
23?
Thursday, October 27th, 2005Are birthdays supposed to be about looking ahead, looking back, or just blowing out the candles and eating the cake? What was 22? Was it all that exciting? I spent the past five months jobless and waiting around. I certainly did not accomplish anything major but in the past weeks it gave me the freedom to go to more Penn State games than I had ever imagined I’d attend this year and go to Michigan. So for that part its worked out well. Plus, its a whole year of being 22. Before this summer I graduated, I’d say that was pretty big. I somehow completed those ridiculously difficult four years and came out not to badly damaged.
With the help of my pictures and web sites lets see what was cool for 22.
• Red Sox won the World Series on my birthday, thats a good start. For the record that also happened in 2002 and 1999.
• Mom got Lady, our Golden Doodle.
• Eagles went to the Super Bowl.
• Penn State – Michigan State – The cardboard game and my favorite PSU game I attended.
• Ed reruns started on TBS!
• Another amazing Spring Break trip to Florida.
• Mom got Beau, our Cockapoo.
• Saw Dane Cook and Jerry Seinfeld.
• Fall Out Boy played Movin’ On, and then blew up.
• Won the robot competition.
• Attended a PSU Baseball game, can cross one of the things I learned Sophomore year off the list.
• Graduated.
• Family Trip to DC
• Got a job in DC that should start sometime before my 24th birthday.
• Evan came up to visit and Middle School Pool party.
• Another DC trip with friends. Added RFK to my baseball stadiums I’ve been to. Bringing the total to nine.
• Went to 4 PSU football games the year after graduating. Including the OSU game, my first ESPN College Gameday, and Michigan Stadium.
• Bought a Mac and use it as my main computer. For me, that might be the biggest thing of the year.
That is just a small listing of the highlights, I’m sure I forgot some very cool stuff.
Looking ahead isn’t quite as detailed. I have an exciting homecoming weekend ahead but really the only thing that is for sure is that I’ll be moving and starting my job. I don’t know anything else for sure and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I like to have some structure surrounding my chaos, but there isn’t any yet.
And my cake, its some sort of Dutch Apple Cake my Mom made and I’m betting its going to be amazing.
Order Prints on Flickr
Wednesday, October 26th, 2005Finally Flickr lets you order prints right off the site. Even better you can choose to pick them up at any Target store to save shipping costs, and they will be ready in an hour. How does Flickr manage to do even the basic things so much cooler than everyone else? Can you tell its my favorite thing on the internet right now?
90s Music
Sunday, October 23rd, 2005Don’t ask me why but I went on a CD ripping kick today with all my old CDs. I looked through my CD case and found that most of my older CDs are not on my computer. They were at one point but from what I can remember I had to clear my hard drive a few years ago and all non-essential music was not backed up and I just never got back around to ripping the CDs again. I think listening to The Pulse on Sirius has gotten me back into the mood to listen to a lot of the music I stopped listening to when punk took over my stereo.
Now what I have is a 90s playlist, which might start to cut into the 2000s but I’m considering 90s as more of a genre than a time period. Here are the bands currently occupying my 90s playlist:
Barenaked Ladies, Counting Crows, Dave Matthews Band, Eve 6, Goo Goo Dolls, Harvey Danger, Hootie & the Blowfish, Lifehouse, Matchbox Twenty, Oasis, Third Eye Blind, and Vertical Horizon.
Who am I missing? I need some help because I don’t own a ton of CDs from that time. Actually I do own a ton from that time but they all fall under those bands.
I thought of some that I don’t own that I’m currently bidding for on ebay. Its a great idea to wait about 10 years to buy a CD, because then it will only cost you $3. I’m bidding on Matchbox Twenty – Yourself or Someone Like You, The Wallflowers – Bringing Down the Horse, Live – Throwing Copper, and Third Eye Blind – Blue. Again, what else do I need to complete my CD collection? I do have things like Nirvana – Nevermind, Pearl Jam – Ten, and Smashing Pumpkins – Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
The Hunt Begins

The Elms at Centreville
Westfield Village
These are the first round of apartments that I’m taking a look at online. I don’t see much difference between any of them. I’m looking for 1 bed/1bath and a washer/dryer in the unit (which is a lot more standard than I thought). The early favorite is The Elms at Centreville. Really just because Todd, Colin, and Lisa live in an Elms and seem to like it very much and I thought it was fine when I was there. It might just come down to where I will be able to have a satellite dish so I can get Sunday Ticket. I’m still looking for more places and will check out sublets and rooms that are available.
Fall Out Boy on The Pulse
Thursday, October 20th, 2005Now Sugar is everywhere. Its been on Sirius Hits 1 for a while now but today I heard it on The Pulse. The Pulse’s selections come from ‘The 90’s and Now.’ Its gone completely mainstream now, its crazy. Two and a half years ago when I first heard Headphones (which is actually Homesick at Space Camp) I knew Fall Out Boy was going to be huge, but I had no idea this would happen. The only thing that disappoints me is that Take This To Your Grave is a so much better album than From Under the Cork Tree. I have to imagine that if the Teeny Boppers that have fallen in love with FOB heard Grand Theft Autumn then we’d have another Good Charlotte on our hands.
