23?
Are birthdays supposed to be about looking ahead, looking back, or just blowing out the candles and eating the cake? What was 22? Was it all that exciting? I spent the past five months jobless and waiting around. I certainly did not accomplish anything major but in the past weeks it gave me the freedom to go to more Penn State games than I had ever imagined I’d attend this year and go to Michigan. So for that part its worked out well. Plus, its a whole year of being 22. Before this summer I graduated, I’d say that was pretty big. I somehow completed those ridiculously difficult four years and came out not to badly damaged.
With the help of my pictures and web sites lets see what was cool for 22.
• Red Sox won the World Series on my birthday, thats a good start. For the record that also happened in 2002 and 1999.
• Mom got Lady, our Golden Doodle.
• Eagles went to the Super Bowl.
• Penn State – Michigan State – The cardboard game and my favorite PSU game I attended.
• Ed reruns started on TBS!
• Another amazing Spring Break trip to Florida.
• Mom got Beau, our Cockapoo.
• Saw Dane Cook and Jerry Seinfeld.
• Fall Out Boy played Movin’ On, and then blew up.
• Won the robot competition.
• Attended a PSU Baseball game, can cross one of the things I learned Sophomore year off the list.
• Graduated.
• Family Trip to DC
• Got a job in DC that should start sometime before my 24th birthday.
• Evan came up to visit and Middle School Pool party.
• Another DC trip with friends. Added RFK to my baseball stadiums I’ve been to. Bringing the total to nine.
• Went to 4 PSU football games the year after graduating. Including the OSU game, my first ESPN College Gameday, and Michigan Stadium.
• Bought a Mac and use it as my main computer. For me, that might be the biggest thing of the year.
That is just a small listing of the highlights, I’m sure I forgot some very cool stuff.
Looking ahead isn’t quite as detailed. I have an exciting homecoming weekend ahead but really the only thing that is for sure is that I’ll be moving and starting my job. I don’t know anything else for sure and I’m not sure how I feel about that. I like to have some structure surrounding my chaos, but there isn’t any yet.
And my cake, its some sort of Dutch Apple Cake my Mom made and I’m betting its going to be amazing.
