Ernest & Bertram – Bert and Ernie are outed by the tabloids. If you have 8 minutes to watch this, do it! It could scar you for life, but its so worth it.

This UCLA student watched way more cable news than anyone should subject themselves to. Check out what she found.

Paula from Real World was arrested for biting her boyfriend. I thinks she’s ready for her own show.

Dorm life in NYC for recent grads.

Bullet Time Flash Game – Test your reflexes. First time my score was 16202.

Travis sent me this video of some guy in the Citizen’s Bank Park parking lot that passed out in his car with his foot on the gas. It was in park so there were hilarious results.

McGwire and Bonds over the years with their baseball cards.

A simple flash game that could kill some time depending on how bored you are.

Bo Jackson dominates Tecmo Super Bowl. One play takes up the whole quarter.

My life has become a boring pop song and everyone’s singing along.

For the weekend. Caitlin was in town, hung out with her Friday night. Pirates 2 Saturday night. Wow. Since everyone in the country already saw it I know I don’t have to tell you to go. Slept late and almost missed Wimbledon, don’t know how that happened. After a month of watching soccer I am still unable to tell you in the final was a good game or not. Additional stories available upon request.

In big news: I finished reading a book. Thank you, thank you. It was the Sports Guy book that I think I started in December. I think 1 book every 6-7 months for me is pretty solid. I already started Naked by David Sedaris. That one might get finished pretty quickly since he is so hilarious and I flew threw the last book of his I read.

Here’s something you need to do. Go buy a Nintendo DS Lite. Its well worth it. I’m a little upset I don’t take the train to work cause my ride would be set. I’d wanted a DS since I saw the previews for the new Super Mario Bros game. I resisted because I didn’t think I’d ever play it. Recently the DS has been all over the place because of Brain Age. When I saw this I became even more intrigued. Then my Mom asked me about it. Now seeing that I would not be the only one making use of the DS it seemed a little more worth it. So last week I went to Best Buy and picked up a DS Lite and Brain Age. Everyone in the house has been playing with Brain Age, I’m hooked. Who knew a simple game that has you reading, counting, and solving math problems could be so much fun. Now I know all of you are just as huge nerds as I am, even if you don’t want to admit it, so you need to go get this game. Then buy Mario Kart DS and we can race.

What’s in the notebook this week.

Last week I saw a trash truck with 3 guys hanging on the back. One guy was stuck hanging on in the middle. Its one thing to get stuck sitting bitch, but what do you have to do you have to ride bitch on the back of a trash truck?

My latest food idea: Double Stuff Pop-Tarts. When is more filling a bad thing? I cannot believe these have not been made.

Last weekend Faction was replaying a bunch of their Takeovers, where someone gets to play whatever they want for a while. The one on was Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Meatwad started things off with Brittany Spears. After the song he said he was told Brittany Spears was not played on Faction. He followed that up with an NSYNC Christmas song. They stopped it after a minute and he wasn’t allowed to pick any more songs. Faction also has a new thing they play between songs saying how they play a buttload of Kelly Clarkson every 10 seconds.

I came across a box of old stuff that had school pictures of a few of my friends from middle school/high school. They all had little notes written on the back. I completely forgot about this phenomenon. The girls would do this all the time and every once it a while someone would request my picture. I hated writing stuff on the back, once a year with a yearbook was enough. Now I realize that it was all meaningless and most of them were probably thrown out or in a box somewhere never to be seen again. I think at work we should have our pictures taken each year and have to trade them and write stupid little notes on the back.

If you are going to dress in costume to go to a movie, as, let’s say … pirates, then you should get there early enough so that you aren’t sitting in the front row. However, after thinking about this a little more. (If you think its odd that I continued to think about it then you obviously don’t know me very well.) Perhaps they were actual pirates. To me pirates don’t come off as being all that punctual. Of course this also begs the question ‘What are pirates doing in King of Prussia?’ I don’t know of any pirates of the Schuylkill. That’s a good thing, cause if you could see a pirate ship off of 422 there’s no way I’d ever get to work.

Oh High School romance. At Subway last night right before I was up to order these girls sitting and the table right next to where I was standing asked me if I would hand the kid making the sandwiches a note (which was written on a napkin) after I ordered. I agreed and they tore out of there giggling. They caused enough commotion that the kid noticed and I asked if he knew them. He claimed he didn’t so I told him they had given me a note for him but I wasn’t giving it to him until he finished making my sandwich. I didn’t stick around for him to read it but I hope it all works out. They seemed like good kids.

2006 is half over. That’s pretty scary. I was thinking about a 1st half of the year review and how horrible 2006 has been so far. I decided to think about the good things that have happened so far this year. Nobody wants to hear about the bad things anymore. Anyone who has talked to me over the past six months has been inundated with my stories. As much as I do love to tell a good story, this is not the place for those. Surprisingly its been a good year, I swear.

I went to a bowl game. I got a job. I met a bunch of new people. I started the Daily Email. I have a new goal. I have the time and freedom to do pretty much whatever I want.

That’s not a bad list.

Four years of college and no bowl trips. Sophomore year we all said, “Let’s not go this year, we have two more bowls to go to.” Biiiig mistake. This trip was amazing and if you read through this whole email you will get a taste of the awesomeness. Even as awesome as the video is the trip was even awesomer than that. Can you believe that? Awesome.

Talk about stress. I had every last ounce of hope squeezed out of me at work this year. You got a job. You need to get cleared again. You don’t have a job. Want to go to Dayton? No. Endicott? No. DC? No. San Jose? Yes, please. Owego? I’ll check it out, what options do I have left. Luckily my job came out of no where and I didn’t have to Owego. Although I wish San Jose would have called. Some good did come of all this. I met a ton of people. From all my TRC buds to countless managers. Every manager likely saw my resume multiple times.

Sometimes I forget how amazing the Daily Email was. Even now, when I go over to check my email throughout the day I hope that someone has responded with something and that a whole bunch of people are also excited that they have received a message. During its peak it was something special. Every once in a while I see sparks of its former glory but without email at my desk it won’t make it back to its’ former greatness. However, there are still some ways to utilize its power. Soon.

The last point is the key. I need to use my time. The life goal doesn’t really matter if I find something else that I want to do. With this time I want to follow through on some of my ideas and experiment with a few new things. Slow down with your imaginations. Experiment to me is likely much different from what it means to you. I’m not going to start drinking, doings drugs, or jumping out of planes. To me it would be learning a new programming language or getting better at video and audio editing. It doesn’t have to be on the computer. My guitar hasn’t been touched for a long while, I have no idea how to play it. I need to get in some sort of shape. I need to run, swim, do something outside. I certainly won’t be joining a gym, just not for me. Plus, we all know what happened the last time I went to the gym. Next summer hopefully I’ll play baseball. I could go even crazier. I could read, or even write. I actually write quite a bit. You all get to see it. Its all focused on emails like this now, but if I got the motivation I have all sorts of other ideas. If I just recorded myself talking all day then I think there are a few volumes right there.

I do have a lot of things to legitimately complain about but its time to look forward. I’ll do my best to complain about some new things. I’m just as good at complaining about meaningless crap.

Things of interest …

Last week I asked if anyone had a microphone or headset connected to their computer. It wasn’t for me. I have that covered. I wanted to know which of you had one. I want to at least try Skype or Gizmo to see what all the fuss is about. There are some other reasons as well … but we’ll get to those.

Movies
See Inconvenient Truth. An excellent documentary. Going in I was really tired and figured I would fall asleep during the sideshow. It kept my attention the whole time. Its really well done.
See Grandma’s Boy. The previews for this were terrible. Its pretty awesome. Off the wall ridiculous.
See Superman Returns, if you really want to. It was a little longer than it needed to be. We also went on a Sunday afternoon so there were lots of unruly kids. I think I’m really done with these superhero movies.

Some new tunes.
FM Static
hellogoodbye

This one just makes too much sense.

So EMO.

Apparently there is a ring tone that adults can’t hear. Right now its a free NY Times article, but you still have to login. There is an MP3 of a sound that adults can’t hear that kids are using as their ring tone. I played it and could hear it. I don’t see how people couldn’t but try it out and let me know.

You Tube Stuff
Conan speaking at a HS graduation.

Ali G interviewing Posh and Becks.

Cobra Starship video for their song Snakes on a Plane (Bring It).
