Drive Thru Madness
I first experienced a purposely slow drive thru in Florida last year when Evan took me to a Steak & Shake. I mean purposely slow because you go in there expecting to wait in your car for a while as they prepare your food. I’m only used to slow because they ran out of fries. Evan backed up the Florida drive thru because the South isn’t in as much of a rush and are willing to wait. I guess it applies to the Midwest too.
A few weeks ago I went to Subway and while I was getting my sandwich I saw that there was a drive thru window. I didn’t second guess my decision because Subway is the kind of place where I know I have to go it and wait for my sandwich to be made. Besides, I want to see my sandwich being made. Tonight I decided to try this place called Steak Escape, sounded interesting and even a Minnesota cheese steak sounded ok to me. Again with the drive thru. I can’t imagine waiting for a cheese steak to be made while I’m sitting in my car. And what if this place gets popular? There will be cars down the street. For the record, the cheese steak was average, just like all the rest here. At least there was no mention of Philly Cheese Steak like there was at the Mall of America.
