Today we created a new game for the pool. It was fun, but may never be played again. The way it worked today was that is was a 2-on-2 baseball type game. The pitcher would stand on the diving board and pitch to his teammate who was standing in the shallow end. The players on the other team would stand along the wall in the deep end to try and knock down anything going out of the pool. Each batter got 5 outs (any swing that doesn’t score points) and each teammate would hit in each inning. 1 Point was scored for hitting a ball out of the pool and 2 Points for hitting it over the fence. Everything had to stay in fair territory. Buck was very good, until we found out his secret. He was corking the bat, actually just filling it with water so the ball would go further. Joe and Buck were beating Keath and I 12-8 before the incident. First Joe hit a 2 Point Homer into the jungle, so we lost a ball. Then on his fifth out, he swung and missed and let go of the bat. The bat just took off and helicoptered into the jungle, lost forever. Tomorrow we might get the chain saw out and try and cut into the jungle to find it. Overall a fun game buts needs some tweaking before its ready for prime-time.
Keath also introduced me to a new game. One person jumps off the diving board while another shouts out a category just at the other is jumping. Before you go under the water you have to name something in the category (eg. “Pet” = “Dog”). Very difficult to get used to but lots of excitement once you get into it.
Oh yea, I beat Keath 33-1 in High Heat 2003 on PS2. I was the Tigers, he was the Indians. Damion Easily came up in the top of the 9th 7-7 but then lined out. I only hit one HR that left the yard. Just wanted to pass that information along.
As I say all the time…. Stay tuned, now that school is over I have some free time and will update more. HA! We’ll see. Currently I am spending most of my free web time creating web pages for Coaches vs. Cancer and the Greenwich site.
