Monday
Today's Game: Braves vs. Indians from Cracker Jack Stadium. Bright and sunny today and coming from Minnesota, 80 is hot. The sun today was coming from the right side, I remember this because we got fried on the right side, with a very clear diving line, at least for me. The Braves lost but J. D. Drew did hit a homer. I didn't hear any boos from the crowd but these are mostly Braves fans and tourists, they don't know any better.
Between games I decided to start flipping through Brynn's giant book of colleges. Evan wants everyone to know that UF is much better than PSU according to just about every stat and it even tops some Ivy schools. Considering Brynn's choice in major along with stats and location we found her perfect school would be University of Hawaii in Manoa.
The next stop was Celebration softball. Its not the Pride anymore, now they're the Storm with a new school and fields. The fields couldn't have been designed any worse. Home plate and the stand should be by the school so the fans don't have to walk as far. Grandpa was along for the ride. He couldn't make the walk so we had to find T.W. and his cart. Corie had play practice right after the game which was at the school. However she could not arrive early, even when we watched as people she knew were going inside. We had to sit in the car with the windows fogging up because it was 110 degrees.
For dinner it was tacos. To everyone's surprise Grandpa announced that he had never had tacos before. Now I find this hard to believe. You'd at least think at one point he had come across a Taco Bell and became curious. Some things can't be explained.
We were scheduled to pick up Mr. Crawford at the airport but he wound up having to go somewhere else and would not be home for another day. This freed us up to pick Corie up at play practice. Evan sent me inside to get her. I had to stand there as all the people came out, giving me weird looks as they did until finally Corie comes out.
The rest of the evening was spent showing Mrs. Crawford and Grandpa Evan's videos from school. Then they were introducted to Curb Your Enthusiasm, which was very popular. At some point there was discussion of what Evan will need for his house next year. He says all he needs is a mattress and no frame. Really, what is the purpose of the frame. Grandpa proposed it was for airflow. I did my best not to burst out laughing while changing the subject as quickly as possible. My best reason was that the bed needs to be at a good height in relation to the night stand. Still, I can't imagine how the airflow works, perhaps its like how bridges freeze before the rest of the road because of the airflow over and under, but I don't think there will be too much wind indoors.
