Tuesday
Election day in Florida. Evan voted for Al Sharpton. Since Kerry already had things wrapped up he was the only logical choice.
Today's game: Phillies vs. Twins. This year the Phillies opened a new stadium, Bright House Networks Field. The place is amazing. The decided to build it at the most dangerous intersection in the state. Reading up on it before hand there was supposed to be very little parking. We had no problem and even parked in a lot, not like the old place where we were in some crazy lady's back yard. The crowd wasn't as elderly as before but we were surrounded by an interesting bunch. There were cheese stakes of course and even Amoroso rolls. Much better than anything I've had in Minnesota. There wasn't any water ice and it seems in all these stadiums all they sell are Super Pretzels. They need to import the kind that the street vendors sell in Philly. The biggest problem for the stadium and the only reason Cracker Jack tops it is the sounds and excitement provided by the PA system. The sound effects were either late or made no sense in the situation. The music was stuck in the 60's, I guess they are still focusing on the older crowd. We had expected to hear Outkast at every game, but nothing in the 00's was to be heard. To get away from the crazy people surrounding us and in an attempt to even out our tan we moved to the berm in the outfield. This seems to be the new in thing at all the stadiums. Finally the game, the Twins hit Milton well, he was a Twin last year. The Phillies won on a walk-off home run by Lou Collier, never to be heard from again (actually he got the start the next night against the Braves).
For dinner Evan cooked up some ribs. Brynn's friend Ashley joined us. Grandpa said nothing the entire meal.
The evening's plan was to see a movie. We went over to Downtown Disney. We were a little early so we checked out Team Mickey, which used to have all sorts of good stuff but now is nothing but Disney characters doing sports things and no team merchandise. We stopped in to Virgin Megastore. Evan mentioned that he had always thought it would make a great laser tag arena. Genius. If you can picture stores like this is makes sense, with all the cd racks that you can see over and two floors. Its perfect. The coolest wrinkle would be the second floor being grated so that it can be shot through. Think of all those Bond movies. Finally it was movie time. The choice was Eurotrip, and what a choice it was. One of the funniest movies I've seen in a very long time.

The most dangerous intersection in Florida, and possibly the country.

Bright House Networks Field is a riverfont stadium, soon there will be people out there in boats with nets waiting for home run balls.
